Visiting OC for Labor Day weekend and want more ideas of which beaches to visit? Or are you a local wanting to switch things up? Either way it’s always fun finding new hidden gems to explore and enjoy. Here are our top 5 OC beach recommendations that are sure to impress especially for the long weekend ahead!

Moro Beach: This beach is truly a hidden gem and can only be accessed through a detour within El Moro Canyon Loop trail, which is a hiking trail. This beach has a stunning presence with the rigid cliffside and houses sitting right on the edge. The natural surroundings make it seem like you’re on a Hawaiian island, giving a tropical feel.

Victoria Beach: This stunning beach can be accessed through a laguna beach neighborhood, right next to 2713 Victoria Drive. You must first go down the long stairway in order to be led to the soft sand and beautiful waters. You’ll be amazed by the “pirate tower” and seclusion that awaits.

Heisler Park: Heisler park is a beautifully landscaped beach, surrounded by a park, gardens, and walking trails, perfect for family and friends to enjoy throughout the entire day. If you’re hungry for a bite, the picnic tables and barbecue setup is ideal for preparing and enjoying lunch without having to leave the stunning views. This quaint, yet beautiful beach will undoubtedly have you coming back.

The Wedge: If surfing is on the itinerary, the wedge is a must. Located on the east end of the Balboa Peninsula, it is known as one of the best spots for catching a wave in Orange County. It is important to be cautious as the waves can get up to 20 feet on a good day. If you don’t feel like getting in the water, watching the waves crash can be of entertainment for hours on end.

Pirate’s Cove: It takes a small little hike to reach this spot, making sense of the peaceful and serene ambiance. This spot is perfect for young children and families because of the calm waters and virtually no waves. The cliffs surrounding the beach add another layer to the already beautiful setting, making this beach the ideal place for a mini getaway.
