Established in the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, walking around in Old Town Orange is like stepping into a beautifully orchestrated antique market scattered with some of the most delectable places to eat and rendezvous with friends. Old Towne is only one square mile in size and is scattered with bungalow craftsman style homes mixed with mediterranean style buildings everywhere you look. In fact, expenses associated with the rehabilitation of historic properties may be processed as a tax deduction. The town has maintained a small town local vibes feel and many nearby Chapman University students walk the streets which fuels the town with a young spirit.
This weekend on November fourth and fifth, the Old Towne Preservation Association (OTPA) is holding their annual home tour. The OTPA has selected six of the most eclectic (and adorable we must add) Craftsman, Victorian, Mission, Bungalow, Revival and other historic styles that are so often found in Old Towne.
Visitors are asked to buy tickets and invited to experience a feel of Oranges past and see what makes this quaint historic district such a great place to live, as well as a favorite tourist destination.
The self-guided walking tour, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will begin at the Orange Library on Chapman Avenue where you can pick up your brochure (your ticket). Available lot parking at the library, across the street and a trolley, provided by Ricci Realty, is also available to all visitors.
Seven Gables agents will be volunteering as docents to guide visitors through these amazing properties.
