Plants Good for Warm Climates

When it comes to warm weather and climates, it can be hard to find plants that are well suited for their environment. We’re breaking down some of the toughest plants and vegetables that are tough and durable to survive the end of summer heat.

Cactus

When it comes to plants that can survive warm climates, a cactus is an obvious choice. Depending on species, cactuses thrive in direct sunlight and can tolerate harsh heat. Requiring little water, they are also extremely easy to maintain. There are several cacti species to choose from, some including beautiful flowers that can add a pop of color to your yard.

Sunflowers

One of the most obvious choices in landscapes is the Sunflower plant. They don’t require much room to grow and are best used for decorations in landscapes. On the plus side they need very little maintenance, which is why they are perfect for hot weather.

Dahlias

The great Dahlia plant is a common favorite amongst landscape owners in warm climates. They are incredibly beautiful, have a wide variety of shape sand colors and will transform your landscape completely. That is the reason why they are considered to be the perfect warm weather plants.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a very resilient and can also be  potted indoor plant. Aloe Vera plants also thrive year-round. Watering Aloe is also very simple and moderate at once a week. The gel in Aloe Vera also has therapeutic values and can be put to use in many ways.

Eucalyptus

The Eucalyptus plant is incredibly common in warm weather and is known to be one of the best plants to grow in hot climates. Eucalyptus requires full sun and adapt well to many different soils as long as the area is well draining.  The plant can grow extraordinary quickly and will also provide great color and texture in your landscape with some truly remarkable flowers.

Bougainvillea

Bougainvillea is a tropical heat loving plant that can tolerate temperatures above 100°. The amount of watering needed for your bougainvillea is directly related to your area and the local weather. Bougainvillea also comes in a variety of colors – pink, purple, orange, yellow, and white – adding color to your back or front yard.
