Did you know 1 of 5 children in Orange County is hungry everyday? It’s true! In fact, 35% of those being fed by Orange County Food Bank are children. Let’s unite to serve our community!
The Orange County Food Bank warehouse is 58,000 square feet, with commercial refrigerators and freezers capable of handling 20 truckloads of perishable food. At the warehouse, volunteers receive and package about 26,000 boxes of food each month, for distribution to 50 sites across the county. The Food Bank provides donated food, USDA goods, and purchased food to non-profit agencies in Orange County that serve low-income families and individuals. Annually, the OC Food Bank is able to distribute more than 20 million pounds of food.
Seven Gives Food Drive will run from November 1st to December 10th and anyone is welcome to participate. We will be collecting a number of items including the following:
- Peanut Butter Jars
- Canned Meats (tuna, spam, chicken, roast beef, chili)
- Canned Vegetables
- Pop-Top, Easy Open Canned Foods
- Dry Foods (beans, rice pasta, cereal, mac & cheese, pancake mix, oatmeal)
- Snacks (granola bars, beef jerky, fruit leathers, energy bars)
- Drinks (juice boxes, bottled water, bottled coffee, bottle teas)
