Fall has finally arrived! What better way to celebrate the new season than by checking out local events in your community. Here are just a few ideas:
Great Park Balloon Jack -O- Lantern Event: This annual tradition is a great way to get festive as the big orange balloon of Irvine gets turned into a giant jack- o- lantern. Fun for all ages, but especially children who love to celebrate Halloween. September 26th at The Great Park.
Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch & Fall Harvest Festival: One of the biggest pumpkin patches in town, Tanaka Farms offers fun for the entire family. In addition to a vast array of pumpkins, wagon rides, a petting zoo, and a vegetable patch all make the experience even more enjoyable. University Drive, Irvine from September 21st to October 31st.
Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch: Visiting a pumpkin patch is a classic way to welcome in the fall season, for good reason. One of the most popular pumpkin patches of Irvine is hosting a modified version of the traditional event this year in order to stay Covid safe. There will be a limit on the amount of families able to enter the pumpkin patch. The game booths and trains will also be frequently sanitized to ensure a safe environment. Open throughout the month of October.
OC Turkey Trot: If you’re looking to raise your endorphins, try the OC Turkey Trot, a 5k race at Irvine Valley College on Thanksgiving Day. To keep everyone Covid safe, the start times will be staggered every 5 to 10 seconds. The course is fast and flat around the campus and past the farmland. Masks will be required before the race starts as well as after, but not during. Starting a new season off with a rush of endorphins and good- feeling hormones can never go wrong.
