From classic Christmas plays to dazzling light displays and outdoor ice skating, read our guide and learn about some of the best Orange County holiday events and activities that will keep your season merry and bright.

Oceanfront Ice Skating at Pasea Hotel – Huntington Beach

Join Pasea Hotel in Huntington Beach for their annual ocean front ice rink. This secluded skating experience is complete with holiday cocktails and bites, theme nights, evenings honoring first responders, luxury firepit experiences, group skate sessions, performances and more. Skate and chill where the sand meets the snow. Skating runs through January 2nd.

Holiday Lights at Dana Point Harbor

Dana Point Harbor Partners is spreading seasonal cheer with the annual holiday light display that will illuminate the Harbor through early January. Each night throughout the holiday season, the Harbor’s magnificent light display will illuminate the evening sky for guests of all ages to enjoy. Themed light exhibits throughout the Harbor will include Candy Cane Lane, a “Merry Kiss Me” arch, lighted trees, and much more.

Irvine Park Railroad Christmas Train

‘Tis the season for Irvine Park Railroad’s annual Christmas Train. Come with family and friends and take this enchanting ride through historic Irvine Regional Park to meet Santa Clause. The train will depart from the train station and drop passengers off at the North Pole. Children can share their wish list with Santa and have their photo taken with him too.

After visiting with Santa, hop back aboard the train and enjoy the colorful Christmas lights and decorations, as well as the magical “Tunnel of Lights”, on the ride back to Santa’s Village. Christmas Train runs through December 23rd.

A Christmas Carol – South Coast Repertory

Orange County’s favorite yuletide tradition continues! 42nd annual production of A Christmas Carol has arrived at South Coast Repertory Theater. From the first “Bah humbug” to the final “Wassail,” this timeless classic is sure to rekindle your holiday spirit. Join all your favorite Dickens characters—Tiny Tim and the Cratchit family, the Fezziwigs, the Ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet-to-come, and of course, everyone’s favorite, Ebenezer Scrooge, portrayed by SCR Founding Member Richard Doyle. Shows run through December 26th.

Newport Beach Boat Parade

Watch beautifully decorated yachts, boats, kayaks and canoes sail along the harbor in the 113th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. This year’s parade will be held Wednesday through Sunday, December 15-19, 2021 and is hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce.
