We are proud to announce the Hickman family’s nomination for the Orange County Business Journal’s 2021 Family-Owned Business Awards. The 2021 Family-Owned Business Awards program allows for the recognition of five exceptional Orange County businesses. The nominees are being recognized in five categories – Small Business Award, Medium Business Award, Large Business Award, Up & Coming Award, and Longevity Award. For this year’s Family-Owned Business Awards, there are 52 nominees. Five awards will be presented at the Awards program on Thursday, August 26, 2021, which will be held at the Irvine Marriott. Set to publish July 19,2021, the 2021 FOB Awards special report will feature nominee profiles and specialized advertorials from sponsors.

At the start of the pandemic, Mike Hickman organized outreach committees that work with local businesses and schools. At the same time, he began a program named “SG Cares” with donations from Seven Gables’ agents for the community which helped pay rent and deliver food for others. Seven Gables hosts yearly free shredding & e-waste events for locals as well as an annual food drive. The company is an annual supporter of the Tustin Dinosaur Dash, a race benefiting the Tustin Public Schools Foundation. Mike Hickman has served as chairman for the Make-A-Wish Orange County and the company regularly participates in events benefitting the children served by the organization. He was also the former chairman of a group called Brainstormers that was established in 1956 to further the innovative practices of real estate.
