Summer is upon us and Orange County has a lot to offer! Whether you hit the beach, check out a local arts festival or catch a concert in the park there is no shortage of summertime fun.

June kicks off our summer with chili cook-offs and mud runs but our favorite is the Wild Wiener Round Up Rescue in Huntington Beach on June 24th.

Fun for the entire family, this popular event features dachshund adoptions and the always entertaining Wiener Dog Races. You can even bring your own “doxie” to join in on the fun. And be sure to bring your appetite as well! German fare will be on the BBQ, ready to devour.

July brings us the Pageant of the Masters (July 1-September 1), the best selling-show in Orange County.

Watch art come to life in a star-lit amphitheater on a beautiful summer evening, where you will be amazed by living recreations of classical and contemporary works of art. Your Pageant tickets also give you unlimited access to the Festival of the Arts where you can walk around, listening to music, enjoying a glass of wine and browsing the expansive selection of fine artwork.

In August, be sure to check out Civil War Days (August 4-5) at the Heritage Museum of Orange County in Santa Ana.

This two-day exhibit features presentations from Confederate and Union soldiers as they reenact daily routines during the Civil War. Experience live canon fire demonstrations, visit a blacksmith shop, and study weapons and artifacts from this time in history.

Get out and enjoy the sunshine this summer and take advantage of all Orange County has to offer. For a complete list of events and activities visit http://www.visittheoc.com/things-to-do/best/summer-in-the-oc/.
